First thing you want to do is prepare the surface.  Unless your house has been through a war, there shouldn’t be too much preparation.  All you are going to need to do is be sure it is smooth and sanded if you have to.

Second step in the process is priming.  This is an easy step and the object is to make sure the primer you use is tinted as close as possible to the finish color.  This will make it easier to apply the finish color.

Third step in this procedure is to do a surface preparation again.  This step is to make certain that you didn’t miss anything on the first go around.  Things such as nail holes, or any other dents or blemishes in the wall.  You fill those holes with a drywall compound.

Fourth step is to begin applying that first coat of paint.  In this step you are going to want to paint one wall surface at a time.

Final step will be the application of the second coat of paint.  This is the best step because you will see all your hard work come together.  So again, you are going to be painting one surface wall at time.  Be sure that the coat of paint has been evenly distributed.
